Cedardale Health & Fitness Case Study

When Cedardale Health & Fitness recognized that member interests were shifting away from cardio-focused workouts toward strength-based training, they knew their indoor cycling studio needed to evolve. Traditional indoor cycling classes, while still valued by loyal members, were no longer enough to meet the diverse demands of a modern gym audience. The team saw an opportunity to reimagine the space entirely and FITBENCH became the solution that made it possible.

Cedardale chose to outfit their studio with 10 FITBENCH STUDIO units, integrating them directly alongside their existing indoor cycling bikes. Rather than overhauling the studio completely, they reduced the number of bikes and brought FITBENCH STUDIO’s into the space, allowing both traditional indoor cycling classes and a new hybrid format to coexist beautifully. That decision proved to be a turning point. The compact, all-in-one design of the FITBENCH STUDIO made equipment transitions between cycling and strength segments seamless, giving members access to a wide variety of training tools without cluttering the floor or disrupting the flow of class.

With 10 FITBENCH STUDIO units in place, Cedardale introduced a brand-new hybrid class format called "Sculpt & Cycle," combining indoor cycling intervals with off-bike strength training. The transformation of the space opened up programming possibilities that simply didn't exist before. What was once a single-purpose indoor cycling studio became a dynamic, multi-use training environment capable of serving a much broader range of members and class formats.

The impact on studio utilization was immediate. Before choosing FITBENCH, the studio ran approximately 16 indoor cycling classes per week. After the integration, that number grew to 25 weekly classes, a direct result of the programming flexibility the FITBENCH STUDIO units unlocked. Every hour of studio time could now be maximized in a way that wasn't possible before.

Attendance followed suit. Sculpt & Cycle classes quickly built momentum, averaging around 10 participants per class with capacity for up to 20, maintaining a 50% fill rate that continues to grow through positive word-of-mouth alone. The demographic shift was equally exciting. Younger, more diverse members who may never have stepped into a traditional indoor cycling class were drawn in by the balanced mix of cardio and strength training, the modern format, and the approachable, social atmosphere the FITBENCH STUDIO setup naturally created.

Member feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Participants consistently highlight how much they appreciate breaking up cycling intervals with strength work, not being locked to the bike for a full 45 minutes, and the convenience of having everything they need organized within a single FITBENCH Studio station. The format feels fresh, efficient, and social, a combination that keeps members coming back and drives real retention.

Instructors have benefited just as much as members. Because the Sculpt & Cycle format allows coaches to guide and cue rather than continuously perform every movement themselves, they experience significantly less physical wear and tear. This has improved both the quality of coaching and the long-term sustainability of teaching, something that matters deeply when retaining great fitness professionals.

Samantha McCarty, Nutrition Director and Group Exercise Director at Cedardale Health & Fitness, summed it up perfectly:

"Integrating FITBENCH into our indoor cycling studio completely transformed how we utilize the space and expanded what we can offer our members. The Sculpt & Cycle classes have been incredibly well received. Members love the combination of cardio and strength training, the social atmosphere, and the convenience of having everything they need in one setup. We've increased our weekly class offerings from 16 to 25 classes while attracting a younger, more diverse audience. Our instructors also appreciate being able to coach more effectively with less physical strain. FITBENCH has helped us modernize our programming while maximizing both member experience and studio efficiency."

Cedardale's story is a powerful example of what becomes possible when the right equipment meets a forward-thinking team. By choosing 10 FITBENCH STUDIO units, they didn't just add gear to a room. They completely transformed their indoor cycling studio into a versatile, high-performance training environment built for the way people want to train today. The results speak for themselves: more classes, more members, and a fitness experience that continues to grow.
